Code of Conduct / Setting Boundaries

Staying In Bounds

• Use caution when talking to a client about your personal life

• Do not share information because you need to talk, or to help you feel better

• Your relationship with your client is be therapeutic, not social.

• Body language and facial expressions speak volumes to clients. Self-awareness and grace are important parts of your role.

• Focus on the needs of those in your care, rather than personalities. Don’t confuse the needs of the client with your own needs.

• Maintain a helpful relationship, treating each client with the same quality of care and attention, regardless of your reaction to the client. Take a deep breath and contact your office manager or field supervisor if you need help with responding in a healthy way.

We understand caregiver burnout. Our entire management and administrative staff know what it feels like to experience caregiver stress. You are not alone; we are here to help provide training and guidance.

Remember: It is our mission to teach families how to provide specialized care for their elders with honor and respect. Our vision includes you as part of our team, working together, we will see every person who needs care receive it with dignity in their own homes.
